Why is data entry limited to Form only?

On some projects, it really helps to have alternative choices!

It would be in the terms of the contract with the documents owner. I do like column entry for some!

OK. Wondering why in the world they would care about how it's keyed in.

Usually a project is limited to Form Entry mode when the records an Indexer may encounter in batches from that Project can be of different types - e,g, Marriage, Birth, Death, Burial - sometimes on the same image.

An example is an an Obituary project, where the Entry for the deceased contains many more Fields than those for the relatives. It might be possible to provide Table or Row entry mode under these varied circumstances, but the programming effort would be onerous, and that effort and time is better spent making other projects available for the public.

You can imagine trying to have a 16-Field Deceased Entry and a dozen 6-Field Relative or “Other” Entries occupy the same Table at the same time. The sizes and shapes are not the same. Form Entry mode is able to accommodate any number and type of Fields, and the needs of one type of Entry don’t intrude on those of another type.
