that being said - - the closest thing that is currently available is to create A FS album where you can include FS Memories items that are not linked to any deceased person ) and then only give the url of the album out to selected people.

You can do that now.
Here is a link to an album containing digital images of a 190 year old business ledger turned scrap book I inherited: https://www.familysearch.org/photos/gallery/album/824354?cid=mem_copy
Here is a link to a photo of my beloved grandparents when my grandfather graduated from medical school in 1924. https://www.familysearch.org/photos/artifacts/86653006?cid=mem_copy
You will see an option to share photos or albums.

Sorry that I did not make myself more clear. I am talking about sharing my FS Memories Gallery with my family and whom ever I so designate.

Hi,
You will find the instructions for sharing memories on this page.
Thank you for your efforts in this great work!

In reading that link, it looks like you can still only share albums or individual artefacts. My plan for sometime has been to collect all my individual images, stories and oral recordings into albums, and that way I can at least distribute those links to people.
If they are working on a way to share the whole gallery, that would be kind of interesting. At least they can come up in search results for others when accessing the menu memories and then find. The trick is to have GOOD labels and descriptions.

They have been supposedly "working on it" for many years now
(sharing items amongst a LIMITED and CONTROLLED group of people - especially in relation to items pertaining to living people)
Don't hold your breath.

One can NOT share their gallery directly
BUT nothing saying you couldn't place the entire contents (up to a max of 1,000 items) of your gallery in an album and share that album with whoever you wished.
You should not place more than 1000 items in an album or you run into issues (even though the system allows it)
note any item can be placed in any number of multiple albums simultaneously without it being duplicated in storage.
