Dear Patron
I looked at the personal record of Vivan Pahk G8MW-TYM and did not find the record hint you referred to I did search FamilySearch Historical Records and found and found a female. aged 9, named Vivian Pahk, in the California, Los Angeles Passenger Lists, 1907-1948, who sailed from Hawaii to California on the City of Los Angeles, arriving at Wilmington, CA on Jun 7, 1929. The image is 439 of 1024.
The following knowledge article in FamilySearch Help Center addresses your concern:
When you search Historical Records, the search results can include information that does not exactly match your search terms. The results are in relevance order. The best matches appear first. Partial matches appear later.
If you do not see how a record on the search results matches what you searched for, consider the following:
- The search results include the name as you entered it and common variations and nicknames.
- The results include records from the place one level higher than the one you entered.
If you do not find what you need, modify your search terms:
- Use the fields on the right side and modify your search. You often get better search results as you remove some search terms.
- Try your search with and without the exact match option.
- Narrow result with the filters above the search results.

@Linda Tippets Thank you for reporting that the link to the image from the indexed information in the California, Los Angeles Passenger Lists, 1907-1948 goes to the wrong image. I've been trying to pull up the image to confirm it, but my computer seems to be choking on the immensity of this record collection and not loading the image.
We occasionally see images off from the index by a few images, but this seems rather a large gap. Just to be sure I'm getting this reported accurately to engineering--when you click to view the image, it comes up at image 15344? And you finally found the correct image as image 85144? Shows a lot of persistence on your part to find the right image! Please confirm that those are the correct image numbers and I'll get a report to our engineers. Thanks!

This is a true Family History mystery. When I clicked on "View Document" for Vivian Pahk it took me to Image 69344 of 109000, but in reality, it took me to the beginning of the roll of film. For some reason the white box with the image number was not working properly so I couldn't jump back and forth or enter an image number and expect it to behave properly.
So I tried searching the catalog for film # 007721660 and ended up having to scroll a LONG way until I found the correct record on Image #85144. (Whoever alphabetized the cards originally had a very unique system. It took me a few hours before I found the record I needed.) I haven't been able to reproduce the experience and can't definitely verify that the correct image is #85144. Hopefully I recorded it correctly. 109 thousand images is a lot to scroll through when the white Image box doesn't work.
I hope someone can fix the problem. ☺️

@Linda Tippets Thank you for the details. I'll see if engineers will take a look at it. My guess is that they really need to break up the collection into manageable chunks so images will load. Your experience matches that I saw when I tried to get to the image from the indexed information page. Can't make any promises that it will change, but we can try. 🤞
