Adding Relatives from FamilySearch to Ancestry
I noticed a problem, this morning, when trying to add relatives from FamilySearch to our church-affiliated Ancestry account. When I am on an ancestor's profile page and link them to FamilySearch, I am also able to add relatives that show up on FamilySearch that are not in my Ancestry tree by clicking on the "Add Relatives from FamilySearch" link. The family members then show up, but when I click on a spouse, that spouse will be created in my Ancestry tree, but still remains in the relative list sent over from FamilySearch. If I click on that spouse again, a duplicate will be added. Another problem, is if a person has more than one spouse, when I click on a children to bring over, from the relationship list, Ancestry used to ask me which parental relationship I wanted to add the child to. This box no longer comes up, instead the child is added by himself, without any parents to my tree. And his name remains in the original relative list.
I don't know who to alert to about these problems. I was hoping you would know who needs to alerted to this latest bug.

I just got off the phone with Ancestry about this problem, which I also noticed over the last couple days. An additional aspect of this problem that I described to Ancestry is that the first click of the "Add Relatives from FamilySearch" button will simply copy a child's information and it now takes a second click of the same button to actually link the Ancestry and FamilySearch profiles of the child. The agent I spoke to at Ancestry suggested this could have happened with a recent update that Ancestry pushed to production for their website. The agent took down my feedback, assigned me a case number, and promised to pass along my feedback to the team that would hopefully fix this problem so it can be released with the next update.
I am guessing that FamilySearch did not update its API or do anything else to cause these problems in the last few days. I think Ancestry's latest update likely had an unintended consequence of making the process of importing relatives from FamilySearch into Ancestry more manual and error-prone. I am wondering if FamilySearch and Ancestry have service-level agreements that could prove instrumental in getting this kind of functionality restored or improved.
