FamilySearch making changes in change log

I know that for extracted records FamilySearch will show up as the contributor. What does it mean if "FamilySearch" is the person who made a change in the change log and it is a recent change? Please let me know if you know anything about what it means when "FamilySearch" is changing things in the change log.

I came across the same thing a couple of days ago. A profile where “Family Search “ has been the only contributor, with numerous updates from 2012 up to a few months ago. If I can find it again I’ll post the ID.

I believe there are some forms or instances of abuse that are cleaned up without a trace other than FS being credited with a change. I have no idea whether this applies to your examples.

There are multiple causes of recent contributions that appear to be "by" FamilySearch. Most are of no concern to most contributors.

@Tate Jacob Thomas if you would like a more substantive response you'll have to share some profile ID numbers.

Here's the profile I mentioned earlier. 50+ entries in the changelog from 2012 to 2022 all by "Family Search".

It appears both KW89-9TN and the spouse KW89-9TJ were in the prior FamilySearch database that was loaded into Family Tree in 2012. But the persons were living, so in 2012 these profiles could not enter the public tree space. Instead, the profiles were held in a private tree space managed by FamilySearch.

There is a process by which deaths of LDS members are reported to FamilySearch and their imported Family Tree profiles are released into the public tree space.
