Putting in names

Huh?
Where are you "putting in" these duplicate names? Neither the Tree nor Records - Search should ever have separate name entries for birth and death.

@Crawford Darrel Jay1 , I'm wondering the same thing as @Julia Szent-Györgyi . In Family Tree within FamilySearch, the birth and death dates are entered in the "person page," which has all of the details of a single individual's life (birth, death, marriage, spouse, etc.). That person's name is at the top of the screen, and one only needs to scroll down the "Details" view of that person's "person page" to change or enter each of those entries (and more, such as alternate names, residences, burial, etc.). And then when you view that person's abbreviated information on the Family Tree view (landscape, portrait, fan chart, etc.), the basics are automatically updated there. Plus, when you then click that person's name on the Tree view the little summary window for that person will appear with that data and more, which can then lead you back to the "Person Page" for that person (the central place to change any information on a specific person - no copying or duplicating of the person's name required). See example below.
