Allow other than photos to be added to sources from the gallery

I recently created a source to which I wanted to attach a PDF from my gallery. The system is only presenting me with photos.

Is there a reason PDF is not an option using this method? Uploading a PDF from my computer is an option, so why not a PDF that is already in my gallery?

PS - I tried uploading a PDF with screenshots to this but it only allows picture formats as well.

You certainly should be able to. Where are you running into trouble? I tried to attach a PDF as a source from my gallery and it went just fine. Here was the process I followed:

    1) Go to source page and choose New Memory Source:

    2) In the new source form, choose Select from Gallery

    3) Scroll through the gallery until I find the item I want to attach. Here I have scrolled to a section that shows a variety of files. I have labeled them with the file type. Those not labeled are also PDFs:

    4) I choose one and click Attach. The title of the source is automatically used as the title:

    5) At this point, I am required to add an event date, citation, note, or reason for the Save button to become active. I don't know whether this is just a reminder to improve the source or a bug in the programming in that the Save button doesn't realize information has been added,

    6) Clicking Save, I have the new source containing the PDF:

As you tried this, where did the process break down?

Your post prompted me to try this using the Google Chrome browser and it works as you describe there.

The problem is I have been using the Microsoft Edge browser. On my computer, at least, when I choose Select from Gallery it does not present me with PDF documents as options. At the top if refers only to Photos and near the bottom of that page lists only photo formats as valid.

So it appears to be a browser related issue.
