Prompt a merge?

Is there a way to prompt a merge of duplicate individuals? Through a marriage relationship, I found duplicates of individuals on my tree, one with their parent and earlier life and one with spouses and later life. I added the parents to my individuals so they now appear in the family as duplicates, but they system doesn't see them as duplicates so it isn't offering the opportunity to merge them. Any ideas?

Thank you,

Lisa

You could try merging by ID number. You will find the option on the right of the person page.

Thank you Evelyn. My only excuse is that it is late here! I checked the help documents and all I could find was that there would be a prompt if the system thought there was a duplicate.

    I appreciate your help.

The system does not always pick up possible duplicates - even what seem to be blindingly obvious ones. As mentioned, Merge by ID is the way forward. I use it frequently.
