Moderators in other posts in the new group for reporting issues with the new pages: https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/316-new-person-page have said this is coming. It just isn't completely coded yet.

I add my voice for adding the "Help Others" and the following "Whom do you want to help?" page to the new homepage. I currently work 2 days at the Ogden FamilySearch Center, and have been a ward lead family history consultant these last ten years. I frequently use those two links to get to the trees of ward members, to find ancestors that are not yet on their tree so I can go into their home and lead them to that person, and keep it to an hour or less.
Those links have been my gateway for years. The regression in the new homepage to "send them an email" is worthless. It has never - and I am talking 10 years - worked in my ward. If for some reason I send a member, even my consultants, an email, I have to send them a text to let them know so they will find and open it. Especially our younger consultants and members. Please don't leave us with that anchor around our necks as the way of contact!
In my ward, I can't speak for others, it works much better to get the needed information from them face to face, when I am getting permission. Those links then allow me to jump into their tree and begin my homework. That homework often takes days to find what I need. Don't add the handicap of trying to get it started via the inefficient email routine.

@Edward Williams, I 100% agree, the Help Others Life Saver is a great tool. See Gordon Collett's Aug 4th post above.

As they promised, there was never any intent to remove the Help Others link. It just wasn't coded yet. I see that it has appeared today:
Doesn't look quite complete yet since it only allows helping by User Name and Helper Number rather than also by name, birthdate, and helper number, but it is here now.

Yes the name, dob & helper number is the most useful to me at the FHC & temple.
