Where do we find out what materials need to be destroyed, and what gets returned to SLC when a FHC is permanently closed?

I assume you have already followed these instructions. Relocate, upgrade, or create a new family history center • FamilySearch

So once the closer is approved you will need to follow these instructions.

Close a family history center • FamilySearch

Hopefully this article will help. Obviously don't know the circumstances or where you are but, if you've already considered and resolved all the issues in the article, my apologies.

I'm trying to help a branch that has already asked to close their FHC. Their computers were removed. We need the list of what films and fiche need to be returned to SLC and what to destroy. Where is that spreadsheet with links to all the documents? I can't find it. Thank you for your responses.

Elder Richins: Once you showed me a spreadsheet with links to all the documents. It was huge. I can't find it. The branch has already closed and their computers removed. They asked my advice on what books, films and fiche to return to SLC and what to destroy. They also have local obituary clippings. Any advice?

That spreadsheet is now two spreadsheets, Standard Operating Procedures, and Articles not in the SOP spreadsheet. They are both on the FamilySearch Community group. You must sign into FamilySearch to use the spreadsheets.

This link will take you directly to the Community group where you can sign in and then click the links to access the spreadsheets.
