South Africa, Johannesburg—Cemetery Records, 1840–2019[M3LC-ZV3]
Hi!
South Africa, Johannesburg—Cemetery Records, 1840–2019[M3LC-ZV3] seems to be a list of unnamed babies born to named parents. most say "s/b of" or "s/born of" (son born of?). but so say "unnamed female" or something like "Edwards baby" or "Edwards s/b of Jeanette." Then there are some with deceased given and surnames, and no mention of parents. I think I found about 15 of them, with all the rest being unnamed children.
How am I supposed index these records? I thought I saw something about this in the "Helps," but I could not find it when I looked in helps again from my project.

Looking at the batch you have selected, I can see that it looks a little unusual and daunting. However, the project instructions are to index the names and as much other information as provided, marking other boxes as Blank.
Ideally, there would be the person's name, sex and parents, but this record is not so easy to decipher, and you can only record the data that is before you. However, don't dismiss recording a death just because some of the information is missing, even if it is the child's name. The fact that a child of a named father and/or a named mother was buried can be great significance to someone who is searching their family records, even if no child name was recorded.
If the project seems too involved or difficult, just return the batch so that someone else who may be more familiar with this type of record can index it.
Thanks for all you are doing to help others read these records.
