Record collection has incorrect church on collection description and indexed records

Good afternoon!

The link at (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903) is a record group that is part of the larger "Pennsylvania, Historical Society of Pennsylvania, Births and Baptisms, 1520-1999" collection. The description of this smaller group says it's from St. John's Lutheran Church, 5th & Race St., but it's actually from St. Michael's and Zion Lutheran Church (both are in Philadelphia). All of the indexed records have this incorrect institution name, which is misleading for those who use this information to search for other records. Is it possible to get the description and perhaps the indexed records corrected?

I've attached screen prints showing the cover and one page image (see the page header). I spot-checked through the 854 images in this collection, and all the images are part of one collection - St. Michael's and Zion.

@PSLeavens , yes - it does appear that the Catalog description for that film is wrong. I also did a quick sampling of the film and everything appears to be from St. Michaels and Zions Lutheran church.

You can report this incorrect description directly to to [email protected]; which is a relatively recent change.

For mere mortals like me, the images are only viewable at an FHC, so I can't check this myself, but based on the catalog listing, I'm wondering if the film just starts with St. Michael's and Zion, and then continues with St. John's?

Of course, the other -- maybe more likely -- possibility is that the catalog description was erroneously partially repeated from the previous film(s).

(The link you gave is incomplete and doesn't go anywhere. The catalog page is https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/2729925, and the film in question is on page 16 of 22 of the Film/Digital Notes section.)

@Julia Szent-Györgyi - Thank you for replying and especially for taking the time to get another way in. Funny about that link I included. It worked for me, perhaps because I was logged in. No, there are no pages for St. John's. It's 854 images, and they are all St. Michael's and Zion. I've gone through it, spot-checking about every 50 images, as well as using the multiple image browser to see if there were other collections included.

Here's another link - this one will go to one of the individual pages of this collection:

Thank you for your reply, @Mike357. That is good to know. I will contact FS about the catalog info, although I'm most concerned about the already indexed records having the wrong church name. Perhaps they can address that question, too. I will hope that researchers will look at the image and not just the indexed record, and that they will see the correct name of the church.

    Thanks again!
