South Africa, Cape Province, Part J Project
This project went live 2 hours ago, so far every batch coming through needs multiple corrections per field for each image, which will trigger the 2nd review as there is more than 20% corrections. I am begging whoever INSISTS on indexing these records when they blatantly have no understanding of the people /place / language to PLEASE LEAVE THESE RECORDS ALONE. If not, at least take the time to READ AND UNDERSTAND THE PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS before venturing into unknown waters. It is ridiculous the junk that is getting pushed through every week for South Africa projects by indexers who have to index them just because they are there

The person who INSISTS ON TYPING EVERY FIELD IN CAPITALS IS ESPECIALLY ANNOYING. YOUR KEYBOARD HAS A CAPS LOCK - turn it off!! Maiden surnames are to be typed before the married surname in the surname field, not in the christian names field. Do not type the nationality as the the birth place. Do not type words like district, or blank which is white, kleuring which is coloured. Do not create multiple entries for multiple spouses or children. do not create additional entries for deceased spouses. Do not americanise the date, South Africa uses the format DD MMM YYYY - Read the PI

Do not add Eastern Cape or Western Cape to the places stated - these are 1951-1958 records, when the province was "Cape Province". Eastern and Western Cape only existed after 1994! Do not type surnames as Oorlede - it is not a surname it means the person is deceased. Do not type the word gebore as a surname it means born. Again read the PI please people!!

Just because a record is in afrikaans, do not mark the image as NED or the fields as unreadable

Thank you, Mr. Noble. I was just going to ask about the date.
