Should not be able to carry across second Residence field detail during source linking.
I wish it one could not carry over a second "Residence" detail (if it has been indexed from a census, or other record. This usually says something like "High Street" - useful (as part of the source) if you know, for example, one "John Smith" lived in the High Street of the town and another in a back street of the same town. But this is not so good when carried across to the Person Page. There it will almost certainly be given a red exclamation mark, which means finding "High Street where?" - if you want it to be standardized and remain on the page - or just having to delete it.
Example of the problem. Great to know exactly where a person / family lived, but causes standardization problems - how are you going to standardize "North Terrace, High" on the Person page? From my past experience, it's not necessarily going to be in Darlington, which might be the town, but possibly the (broader) registration district!
BTW - In case you're sharp-eyed, I know this does not match the person (on the right). Just to illustrate the problem - I didn't attach the source.

Having never encountered an index with a second field interpreted as "residence", I don't know what sorts of things typically show up in such, but isn't getting rid of the capability based on its lack of utility in this case rather ...overkill? Throwing the baby out with the bathwater?

On balance it just seems the best option. I'm not asking it shouldn't be indexed at all (though probably not as "Residence") as its helpful to have on the record, as I've explained. But it's just gives extra work to do once carried across to the Person page - I'd probably even delete it from there in order to get rid of the (needs standardization) warning flag!
Think of it as being another nuisance - like records being recorded (post-indexing, we're told) as "Baptisms" (going to the Other / Custom Events section when linked), compared to being recorded as "Christenings", whereby they go directly to the Vitals section.
I have lots of these abbreviated place names (usually relating to England & Wales census sources) and if I do carry them across I give myself a lot of work in establishing where "North Terrace, High" (see above) and the like might actually be situated. However, if I don't carry these across, another user (with a shared interest in the ID) will, (thus creating the data error warnings) - so, basically, through my suggestion, I just want to guarantee avoiding extra work!
