The schedule an online meeting facility in Contact Us is not accepting FamilySearch account questions. It either refuses to accept a booking, or will schedule a booking that has no Google Meet hyperlink.

People who do manage to make a booking are left in the dark because there is no way to connect with a helper via Google Meet.

    Schedule a Call does not use the phone.

    You will get an email with a link to your scheduled meeting which is a Google Meet meeting.

    Please check your email.

    When you click the link in the email at the scheduled time it puts you into the meeting.

    In this live meeting you can share your screen showing us or telling us your problem.

    Please note Schedule a call is only available:

    Saturday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM MST

    Sunday 1:00 PM MST to 6:00 PM MST

    Time will increase in the next few weeks.

    @ECameron27

    This error is happening in the Pacific Area, not the US. We have bookings available throughout the week. The whole point of the report is that: either the system won't accept a booking, or; the booking confirmation email does not contain a link to the Google Meet. So when the person requesting the appointment turns up online, they are unable to connect with the helper. The system is also not advising the helper that an appointment has been made.

    I have worked with the person who experienced the problems and advised them why nobody turned up and that we are looking into why the system is not working properly.

    Is there an alternative secure Meeting program that can be used besides Google Meet? Google is not "secure".

    Why can't FamilySearch create its own program instead of using a questionable 3rd party "solution"? I'm thinking "Millennium-worthy" stuff.

    Read the "privacy policy" as currently posted by Google. Read it again. Closely.

    Maybe the Internet companies in the Pacific Area are in tune with the following and desire to protect their customers from abuse

    What "Plan B" has been established as an alternative to Google Meet?
