Uploading a pdf

Maybe post a link so we can take a look?
As an aside, I prefer to post the jpg because then when you link the document to multiple people you can highlight the exact spot their name appears in the image. With pdf format you can't do that so you may have to hunt through several pages to find where someone is referenced. Also, if there are people's photos in the PDF you won't be able to use them for the profile picture, but you do have that ability with a jpg.

There very well may be an issue with the background processing of uploads... I have been unable to get uploaded photos to show this morning.
There are good reasons to use PDFs, especially for documents and if you have several photos you want to stay together as an album. In most cases, JPG is best for single photos - it's a judgement call for multiple images. Also note that PDFs are more often OCR'd to make the text searchable. Not sure how that would work with a JPG...

Here is a link to the memory page with the pdf. It is the document with no title.

I am very new to adding memories; maybe I just assumed that documents should be pdf format rather than an image file. Many of my documents are actually scans of papers that are in the possession of family members in other states, so trying to rescan as a pdf isn't possible. I scanned as jpgs so I could crop, lighten, darken as needed to enhance the image. I don't have access to Adobe Acrobat but was goijng to try and convert all the jpgs to pdfs if it was necessary.

Thank you Mr. Daniels for the note about the pros of using pdf format. Most of my memories would be singles and would not require searching, so jpg might be the way I should go.

I see the pdf's just fine from the link you just provided.
if you have a set of images you want linked together inside a single file - pdf is the way to go
if it is just a single image - you can use jpg or png
are the pdf's displaying now as you expect?
are you viewing on a computer or a smart device?

I see the "icon" of the pdf under documents on the link I sent. When I click on it I see a blank page and can't add a title or any notes. Weird. I am using a pc desktop, Windows 10. I just noticed that when I click on it, it is downloading to my pc....? Strange. Maybe I inadvertently did something to cause this?

Im guessing your issues are simply related to how Adobe is configured on your computer.
when you see pdf files on other (non FS pages) - does it open the pdf in your browser or does it download it?

by the way - I note one of the items was a page from a family bible.
do you have the other pages?
a group of us are involved in a project to upload tens of thousands of family bibles to FS Memories

You may be right about how Adobe is configured on my computer. I just tried a couple things. If I open a file resident on my pc it opens right away, but if I try to open one from a website it downloads and I have to open it. I'll have to figure that out, so thank you for setting me straight. I guess I'll stick with the jpgs for now since I have no real reason to use pdf at this time.
I do have several old family Bible records and I am adding them to the appropriate memories as I work through my records. I will check out your project though and if I am not doing thanks as you'd like I'll change my procedure. Thanks for all your help; it is truly appreciated.
