My mother's spouse was not my biological father as my mom was not married when I was born
How do I add my biological father to my family tree?
My original post vanished while I was trying to edit it but here is a close copy
@MichaelJohnson656, just go to your Person/Detail page. Below In the "Family Members" section click "+Add Parent" and put your biological father in.
After that you should see your biological father listed on the right side in the "Family Members" section. Click "+Add Spouse" and add your mother in by using her PID number. I know they were not spouses, but you are only creating “a” relationship now. You can specify what type relationship later or leave it undefined)
After you have him and your mother entered you should be able to see yourself as a child connected to them, again in the Family Members Section right side. You may have to click the drop down arrow marked children for you to show up. Anyway after you see yourself as their child, click the pencil icon next to your name, then on the next screen click "+Add Relationship Type" under your biological father's name and mark it biological (biological is usually the default) and then Save.
You may also want to mark the type of parental relationship you had with any other father figure in the same manner, your other choices are Foster, Guardianship or Step.
I know it's a lot, just start from the top and ask questions if needed as you go and someone will help walk you through it.
These instructions are for the website, the App may be slightly different.1
I put my bio father in my tree, but now my mother has disappeared. When I go to add her back in I get a message that the relationship already exists, but she is not showing in my tree. Again, my bio father was never my mother's spouse. My mom was an unwed mother when I was born in 1951. She married her spouse when I was 5 years old and he adopted me under his name.0

You didn't have to create any relationship between your biological father and biological mother.
It would have been okay to create an ID for him - by clicking on "Recents", then "Add Unconnected Person". After that, you "Add Child", by clicking on "By ID Number", then copying / pasting your own ID reference.
So, you should now appear in a relationship with just your biological father and (if your biological parents never had a lasting relationship) you can just appear against that the relationship and in one with your adoptive father and biological mother.
In summary, your ID will be displayed on your biological father's page, as well as those of your biological mother and adoptive father. Whilst, on your ("person") page, you will appear twice - once under your biological father and again under the relationship between your adoptive father and your biological mother.
Is this how you want the relationships to appear on your "Person" page?0
@MichaelJohnson656 , @Paul W makes a very good point, about not needing to create a relationship between your mother and your biological father. It is up to you, depending on your assessment of the strength or quality of that relationship and how you prefer to show the connection. One type of relationship on FS is Lived Together.1
