First thing on Monday, a FamilySearch engineer should acknowledge the source linker problem
Whilst it is vary rare for the engineers to come to this forum (they did visit the GetSatisfaction one more regularly) the source linker problem needs to be officially acknowledged, together with a promise that every effort is being made to resolve the issue.
The current fault with not being able to carry detail across (principally, Residence-related) is causing many users serious hold-ups in adding sources to IDs.
No timescale for resolution is expected - just the reassurance (and not just from a moderator) that the engineers are working flat-out in giving their attention to this matter.

Very disappointing that no FamilySearch employee has had the politeness to advise this issue has now been resolved - let alone offer any form of apology for the inconvenience caused to users, many of whom appear to have had to postpone important work due to this feature failure.

@Paul W I'm really sorry on both counts. We must get better at communicating with you. Please accept my apology on behalf of FamilySearch. I did get looped into this issue late yesterday afternoon and was asked by the engineers to relay the message that the issue had been fixed. I know that's not much but the engineers did want the community to be updated.
