Are there updates being applied to the "Place" field in Catalog entries?

This morning (central European time), no search results are returned if I try to search by "Place", regardless of what place I choose, though searches by other search criterion (subject, title, author, etc.) still return results as expected. For instance, a place search for items from "United States, Illinois, Cook, Chicago" should yield tens, if not hundreds, of items, but no results are currently found:

Meanwhile, a subject search for "Chicago records" still yields many of the same items one would expect to see when searching by place:
