Documentation of Source - Transcription Question
I visited a Research Library to review in house Catholic Church Records. The records I accessed were of course in Latin. I used the FamilySearch Latin language aid to get an idea of what was recorded. I'm confident with the names, dates, etc. I have all the information necessary to document the source.
I was unable to obtain images of the source due to restrictions at the Library. That resulted in my transcribing as best I could each entry.
The documents had several different and at times difficult to read handwriting and spelling of Latin words. Can I attach the source to support for example, Birth or Christening without providing the transcription as long as all the source information is documented? Or must I provide the transcription in Latin as well?
Thank you!

Another suggestion: post your transcription on a forum somewhere, such as a group here related to the place where the church is. Who knows, maybe there'll be someone who can go re-check the records, or who knows of a different way to access them.
(Yes, Latin was used in Catholic records the world over, but that didn't affect the surnames and placenames that were recorded, and those are often the hardest parts to read. Local knowledge can be key to deciphering them.)

The only required part of a source citation on FamilySearch is the title -- and there are no content requirements for said title. (Typing a single character in the title field is enough to activate the "Save" button.)
Including your transcription in the Notes/Description field would of course be helpful. Someone with a better understanding of the language could look at it there and perhaps offer corrections, or things to re-check when/if you get another chance to look at the records.
