Need Help with Discussion that I posted, that is not displaying images correctly

I post a discussion in the France Group "Questions about a France Marriage Certificate?" Some of the images that I have pasted or attached do not change from blue background with an hour glass? I could not update the posting, so added a comment try adding the first page of the marriage record. I got the same problem. Even the attachment takes me to the blue image.

How do I fix this problem?

The display of images in this Community is often glitchy. I was told there is a computer algorithm that does the first review of an image to be sure it is acceptable. Sometimes that algorithm fails. Sometimes it takes a VERY long time for the image(s) to appear.

Knock on wood, but I've had no problems with images that I copy-and-paste from Paint.net. However, those are usually screenshots that I purposely size down (because my screen has ridiculously high resolution for its size); for a paleography-type question ("help me read this" or "what does this say?"), I'd want exactly the opposite, and I don't know what this forum would do.

But since paleography-type questions basically always end up as "we need more context", and the image zooming functions on this forum are basically nonexistent, perhaps you can side-step the whole question and post a link instead of an image?

I agree a link would be useful, but I don't believe that 1976 French marriages are online outside a paywall.

The most common reason I have run into for this blue square with hour glass problem, is if I have added an image, submitted the post, then tried to edit the post. Even worse I have found for me, that if I then save the edit and try to edit the post a second time, the editing tools on the image are gone and I cannot delete that blue square.

I have had the best luck with images if I drag them into the post rather that use any of the tools at the bottom of the text entry box and if I proofread really, really carefully. If I do, as usually happens, find one more typo after posting and have to edit, I delete all images and drag them back in then correct the text and save. That nearly always prevents the problem.

@ChrisPetersen I fixed the image issue on your original post. I'm not sure why it wasn't working. I'll look into that but I wanted your post to be fixed. Sam 🙂
