If a record has a blank space where the day of the birth should be. Do I mark it blank or take the date from the previous entry? I ask because for the year they will only give it once and it applies to all the names below it. So I was wondering if the same applied to the days?

My answer seems to disappear when I hit post. I will try again. It is my opinion that we would consider the blank as an implied ditto and would use the date above,

I have reviewed several of these batches and I agree those are "phantom" dido marks. Of all of them that I have reviewed I have never seen a repeat of the day of the month.

I am working on those same records and it is my opinion that in this case it is an implied ditto and that we should use the day above until we come to the next date. I have done several batches and a few actually have ditto marks but most are the same as the one you are working on. I would record Carolina, George and Joseph as being born 1924 Feb 22.

On the main page after sign in, click on "find a project" and a list of numerous batches of various difficulty will show up. Pick one and get started after reading all the instructions of what to do for each batch.
