@N Tychonievich This one seems to be similar to the issues we have been reporting on the 1900 census.
The ones I have noticed, in 1940, like this one, seem to be affected by a particularly long ED description, complicated by the fact that the index for just a few names is repeated.

@annesh706 Thank you for reporting this problem. We will report it to our engineers so they can dig into things and make corrections. Unfortunately, we cannot predict how long it might take for corrections to be in place. You can still use the census as a source for your family by using the image itself. To do that, in the top-right of the image page, click Source Box and then Add to My Source Box.
Then you can either open your Source Box and click Attach beside the entry for this census page. From there you can find each family member's Family Tree record and attach the image as a source.
Or you can go to each family member in Family Tree and click the Sources tab. Click Add Source and then Attach from Source Box. The source box opens. Click the little box to the left of the census entry in your source box and then click Attach.
The Help Center has some articles that provide more details:

@annesh706 Looking at this, I notice that there is an easy way for you to find the indexed information for a family on that page in the 1940 census. You did not specify which family on the page you were interested in, but you can find these people by searching the index of the census. Here is how:
Open the 1940 census collection: https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2000219. Click More Options below the search field. Enter a name. I used Phillip D Moore. Click Birth and enter the year the person was born based on age on that census image. For Phillip, the year is 1913. Click Residence in 1940. Choose New York for the State, Queens for the County. Then click Search. Unless there was some serious errors in indexing names (and there could be; some of the names on the page are not very clearly written), you should see your person. To see the indexed information and attach the record to the family, click the icon that looks like a sheet of paper in the search results. The indexed info comes up. Click Attach to Family Tree. Maybe that will save you a little time over adding the image to the source box while we wait for the image index to get fixed.
