Who do I contact to bring attention to a name on a naturalization record that has not been indexed?

Missing person: Adam Jurkonis

"Illinois, County Naturalization Records, 1800-1998," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-89MJ-C9V4-7?cc=1989159&wc=M6VQ-B29%3A266143301%2C266164701 : 19 March 2019), Menard > Petitions for naturalization 1860-1903 vol A > image 48 of 78; various county courthouses, Illinois.

Unfortunately, FamilySearch does not currently have any means of adding anything to an already-published index, and we have been told at various times that no, material cannot be sent back for re-indexing. So in other words, there's nobody you can contact.

If you know who Adam is, you can attach the image as a source for his naturalization, bypassing the faulty index.

If you don't know him but are feeling motivated, you can try to find him in FamilySearch's Family Tree or in other public genealogies. Otherwise, you can simply hope that his relatives don't rely solely on indexes in their research.
