How to find someone in my tree

I've tried finding a specific person in my tree, but when I do it only gives me hundreds of options of every person and I can't figure out how to search solely within my own tree. My 7x's great uncle was an elder in the Mormon Church and had 3-4 sons who became bishops. They moved from Utah to what is now Nez Perce County, Idaho. I don't remember their last names, but I do know one of the younger members married a Nez Perce lady whose name was (I believe) Blue Feather or Blue Earring.

How can I narrow my search down to just within my own tree?

Thanks so much for all you do.

Since Family Tree is a single, universal, wiki-style tree that we all work in together when you search in the tree, you are always searching the entire tree. There is currently no function in Family Tree that lets us limit a search to a specific branch of the tree. This has been requested a lot so maybe the programmers will come up with a way to do this some day.

One way to achieve something of the sort is to check off the Following option on your direct lines. Then you can search in your Following list to find those people whenever you need to.
