FIRST ANCESTOR comes up as the first tree view
It is disconcerting and inappropriate to have FIRST ANCESTOR come up as the first default when signing in to FamilySearch and clicking "TREE".
This is problematic enough - stressful and time demanding - for seasoned users.
For new or inexperienced or non-computer savvy or time pressed users it is a showstopper.
This is a request that
1) The default initial "familysearch.org" tree view be whatever view the patron was using previously.
2) That best practice design be followed in introducing new changes. One basic principle of best practice design is "no surprises". Please.
When familysearch wishes to draw attention to a new feature, other strategies can be used, like a banner or pop-up, etc.
Please forward this to the responsible management level.

If I have been signed out of Family Search for a while and sign in and go to Tree, I always get the Landscape pedigree view. If I've been signed in, I always get the last tree view I used. I just tried again and that is still the case. Can't tell you why your browser is stuck on First Ancestor. The usual first step to fix such a thing is to clear caches and cookies.

Looks like, since nobody else can duplicate this result, it is most likely a local device or browser issue.
