I am not related to Odleman G3CD-1F7. He is not the father of Philander O'Dell LH1R-BDQ. When I find the correct names, I'd like to be able to enter them. I tried to change Odleman to ODell, but I can't change anything on Odleman, because he has too many sources. How do I detach Odleman, so I can move on with my work?

Here is a knowledge article from the help center explaining how to correct a parent-child relationship.

    https://www.familysearch.org/en/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-correct-parent-child-relationships-in-family-tree

Basically, you begin by opening the person/details page of Philander O'Dell. On the right side of the screen under Family Members where it shows Philander as a child to Odleman, click on the Edit button (the pencil next to Philander's name.) A window will open giving you the opportunity to Remove or Replace the relationship. Next to Odleman, click the blue, Remove or Replace link. On the next screen put a check mark in the box next to, "I have reviewed the relationships, sources, and notes for these individuals." Then click the blue Remove Person button. Type your reason statement and click Remove.

This will delete the relationship between Odleman and Philander O'Dell.

Best wishes as you continue your Family History.
