Dear Family Search Support Folks,

you should have gotten a corresponding email saying the item was restricted
simply reply to that email - only three words are needed in the reply
simply say "Restricted in error"
if you see nothing in the photo that is in violation of policy - than those three magic words will work nearly 100% of the time.
Note the images are originally processed through a NON human (imperfect) process - - sometimes that process flags items it should not. When you reply to the email - it is reviewed by a human being and they will let it pass if there is no violation of policy.
Let me know if you didnt get any email (check your spam folders)

Dear Dennis,
Here is my question. I posted a photo of my Aunt Eunice playing the violin and it was "restricted". I have read the Family Search guidelines for posting photos and none of the guidelines mention a restriction for a musical instrument, such as a violin.
How do I contact the support folks to have the "restricted" removed from the photo of my fully clothed Aunt as a young girl playing her violin for an elderly Aunt and Uncle?
Thank you so much for your response.

That photo meets the criteria for a good memory...unless there are other pieces I don't see.
Just respond to the email and tell them it's ok...and ask them to review it.

In my experience, more than half of my completely legitimate memories - often documents, not even photos - are rejected on the first try. The first review is a computer algorithm, and it doesn't do a very good job. Reply to the email, if you received it, and ask for a person to review. It should go through without issue.

Dear Family Support Group,
Does this mean that the photo I posted of my aunt playing a violin has been "unrestricted" as I requested.

Only if you have responded to the email, requesting that it be unrestricted, and received the reply saying it has been reviewed.
We are not support staff. We are mostly just other users of the website.

So, no, the photo of the violin has not been "unrestricted". I responded to the email that it be unrestricted. Any more suggestions.
Thank you so much for replying,

I usually get a reply in under 24 hours, letting me know that my image has been unrestricted.

Dear Aine,
I'm patient and will wait, although it has been more than 24 hours.
Thank you so much!

If you do not receive a timely response, you can try deleting and uploading again. I know some people do that and have success.

I'll see if that works.
