Can a reason be given in Read only people why they are marked as read only?
Why are certain people are marked read only. For example Mary Ann Pulsipher KWNN-G4B is marked read only because her mom Mary Ann Brown KWJH-D9R is marked read only. I am guessing that Mary Ann Brown is marked read only because it has something to do with Church History. Have they ever thought about adding a reason why they are marked read only. Ancestors what to add memories and they are not able to do it. They think their relative is not famous and do not understand why they are marked read only.

Hopefully, FamilySearch does (privately, at least) address the concerns of relatives of a read-only individual, by providing them with some sort of explanation.
I know we have no rights as users to request an ID is made read-only, but equally FamilySearch should always be prepared to explain (if only privately to users raising a query) why the organisation deems it necessary for a particular ID to remain locked from editing.
I'm sure some of these IDs must have ended-up this way by accident, rather than design, as I find it particularly baffling that of two IDs for the same individual, one can be read-only yet the other open for editing.

@Paul W, the reason the second (editable) profile exists in the first place is that the other one is read-only. The editable profile was likely created by a relative who gave up on the read-only version. Luckily, FS doesn't "police" the tree, so they are highly unlikely to notice the duplicate.
