Attaching 1950 Census as a Source
When attaching the 1950 US Census as a source, why (O WHY?) does the source linker tool give the user the opportunity to create a Custom Event with Residence 1949, United States??
Seems like that is unnecessary and "clutter". Anyone concur?
thanks

It's the same process as for the 1940 which asked the question about where the person enumerated lived in 1935.
The 1950 asked, on the sample lines, "What county and State was he living in a year ago?"

Exactly my point ... because the way the source linker handled the 1940 Census we now have "1935 Same Place" all over the place, which in my opinion is "clutter". Feedback was not accepted and now we have a new manifestation of the same thing with 1950 "1949 United States". Similar example was with the LDS Worldwide Census records creating "1914-World, 1930-World, 1955-World, etc). At feedback was accepted on that collection, but only after many, many sources and Custom Events were created. The response seems to be "if you don't like the Custom Event "clutter" you can always delete them".... easier said that done, especially since that could have been prevented in the first place. Just my "soap box" I guess.
