Suggested improvement to Timeline Map feature

I love the way I can see the geographic locations of a single ancestor over a lifetime with the Timeline Map feature. Furthermore, the ability to display the Route, thus linking each place visited in chronological order, results in a very powerful graphic display of an ancestor's life journey.

However, I would like to have more control over which events are included. For example, including my ancestor's children in the Timeline resulted in displaying her location correctly at the birth of each child. However, the locations of the deaths of each child were also shown on the map, and linked in a chronological sequence.

My ancestor was not present at the death of each of her children, and was not alive when some of her children died.

I would love to have the ability to show/hide individual events on the timeline, particularly when in Map mode, without editing the content of the event record itself.

Then I would be able to clearly display the life journey of any individual ancestor.

The gist of this suggestion seems to be that the birth of a woman's children should be on her own timeline. So when the option to include children is turned off, their births should still appear. I agree.

I do not agree with the suggestion that a contributor be able to show/hide selected events.
