Redesign of the Descendancy View of the Tree seems counterproductive
The redesign of the Descendancy View of the Tree does not appear to be as user friendly as it was previously. In particular, the hiding of the Generations selection under a tool icon appears inconsistent with the rest of the page. It is one of the first selections that a user is apt to make. All other controls for expanding or collapsing generations are shown prominently on the main portion of the page. Putting the Generations selection under the tool icon has resulted in confusion and consternation on the behalf of users. Considering the priority of the Generations selection and the inconsistency of its new placement, can it be reconsidered for returning it to the main page instead of under the tool icon?

It's all in line with FamilySearch's current design ethic: they subscribe to the school of thought that believes that making all functions easily accessible makes for a webpage that is too confusing. All functions must be hidden behind an absolute minimum of one extra click.
Needless to say, neither I nor any of the other regulars here in Community agree with this theory.
