Anybody at Familysearch able to advise why estates for the years1974-2011 which are from another later collection have been added to the 1950's? https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=20&q.deathLikeDate.from=1959&q.deathLikeDate.to=2022&q.surname=%2A&f.collectionId=4319131

Also note the collection title of Western Cape is incorrect. Western Cape only existed post 1994. In the 1950s it was Cape Province

@gary_noble, it certainly looks like the Collection, South Africa, Western Cape, Deceased Estate Files, 1951-1958 is having some problems.

Using the link that you provided, I found that when I view one of the images that are indicated as being in the above Collection, I find that the film number is actually found in the Catalog page, South Africa, Western Cape, estate files, 1974-2009, but not part of the collection that is referenced there.

What becomes more interesting is searching South Africa, Western Cape, Deceased Estate Files, 1951-1958 for records that are actually in the date range. I found a Mabel Mary De Lange Francis Smith (https://www.familysearch.org/search/ark:/61903/1:1:6X69-XKL5), but when I examine the film number associated with her record, I find it, not in the said collection, but as one of the films in the Catalog page, South Africa, Western Cape Estate file, 1953 (but not associated with the referenced collection).

I haven't drawn any conclusions yet, but will continue to look at this issue. I may require that engineers work they issue, but I want to pursue it a little further before sending it them.

Hi Mike, these1958 and 1999 estates were 2 separate projects, indexing ran concurrently, but they were merged at publication. I did email test indexing about it but as so often, its like emails fall down a black hole at FS.

Another problem with these records is they are missing from the catalogue, but are viewable in the images. I have raised this with test indexing, as well with another email about it with FS back in Sept 2020, ignored again... 1954 https://www.familysearch.org/records/images/search-results?page=1&place=2241689&endDate=1954&startDate=1954&lifeEvent=127179&lifeEventRecordTypes=124277%2C123963%2C123649%2C126467 1955 https://www.familysearch.org/records/images/search-results?page=1&place=2241689&endDate=1955&startDate=1955&lifeEvent=127179&lifeEventRecordTypes=124277%2C123963%2C123649%2C126467 1956 https://www.familysearch.org/records/images/search-results?page=1&place=2241689&endDate=1956&startDate=1956&lifeEvent=127179&lifeEventRecordTypes=124277%2C123963%2C123649%2C126467 These 3 sets used to be accessible in the catalogue back in about 2018
