search results opening in two tabs

In the FS Tree, when I have a list of search results, and click a name, I get the popup window. Then if I click (left click, not right click) the name in the popup, or click the "tree" button at the bottom of the popup, the link opens in that browser tab, *AND* opens in a new browser tab at the same time. So then I have 2 tabs open to the same thing. This is annoying, as if I don't keep cleaning up the mess, I'll have open a dozen browser tabs, and lose track of where I am.

I can understand the idea of an option opening in a new tab, but not both the current page AND a new tab, both at the same time.

Same results in both Firefox and Chrome (on Windows), so it is not related to cookies or browser cache or browser settings. Can this bug be fixed?
