I received a timeline for my Great Grandfather Joseph Bonaparte Alvord. It show the birth of child Melvin Theodore Ray Chapman inferring that that Melvin Theodore Ray Chapman was the son of Joseph Bonaparte Alvord. He was the son of Theodore Chapman the second husband of Leonora Barrett. Joseph B. Alvord and Leonora Barrett were divorced in Oct. 1871. Theodore Chapman and Leonora were married in Dec. 1871. . Family search records for Theodore Chapman show they were the parents of Melvin Theodore Ray Chapman. Theodore and Leonora divorced in1873. Records of both Theodore Chapman and Leonora Barrett show that in 1880 that Theodore, his wife Leonora, and their son Melvin resided in the home. All the above information is documented in the records at Family Search.

Also in the timeline it indicates that Joseph B. Alvord was in the US military. He was in the Utah Territorial Militia.

As indicated Melvin is not the biological son of Joseph B. Alvord and has therefore has direct no genealogical connection to the Alvord ancestry. Could someone at Family Search please review and correct all records? Also please change service to Utah Territorial Militia.

    Thank you very much,

    Jacquelyn J. Alvord
