I do not know for sure what to do with the Comptroller name, to index it

US, New York, Adirondacks—Index to Land Records, Grantors, 1630-1975 [Part J][M3G5-HTL]

This is not so much about the individual as it is about the person position as the Comptroller. SInce the other last names begine with a 'C' then if I index it as a name, then there will be a lot of Comptrollers with different first names. I suspect that I would put it under the Grantor Corporation or Organizer name.

But I thought I should check first.

Thanks

Al

In the field help for given name it states:

Do not include titles, terms, or suffixes with the name. Index prefixes in the Prefix field.

Comptroller is a title and would not be indexed. The names listed after Comptroller appear to be the individuals surname. Note line 3, Pearl H Comstock,

If my thinking is correct then every grantor given name field for that page, except Pearl's entry, would have (blank) entered.

Hope this is of some help.
