Age unclear at times

On this batch most of the ages are obvious but on some instead of 034 or 077 there are three numbers; 406 or 502. Would that mean 4 years and 6 months or 6 years and 4 months?

Great question! They are codes. 0-1 designate years and 2 designates months. 4 designates completed days, 5 designates completed hours, 6 is completed minutes. So, they are all indexed as age 0.
0-1 designate years and 2 designates months.
011 - 11 years
211 - 11 months
411 - 11 days
511 - 11 hours
611 - 11 minutes
406 = 6 days
502 = 2 hours

Your link is not working. What project are you working on?

US, Washington—County Death Registers, 1881–1979 [Part C][MSY1-9XW]
Here is a screenshot of the page, the next to last column is the age column. As you can see most start with a 0 but some start with a 4 or 5.

Here's a link to the film (Image number 13). Would have been good to put with the project instructions.
