I'm wondering if the president of this land company, J F Crosby, can be listed as the grantor because he is the one doing the granting to A W Carlisle?

    Hi @Doris Castleton

interesting question. I would say yes. I would interpret this situation as if there were two grantors - the company and it’s president J F Crosby. The first grantor - the corporation/company - is not to be indexed, per the instructions. But the second grantor - the named president J F Crosby - is a person, and so should be indexed.

I got involved in the 1950 census and forgot to check back. What you said makes sense to me. Thank you so much. Doris Castleton
