I found a marriage record, but both the son (the groom) and his father have their surnames entered incorrectly on the database. When I hover over 'edit' it shows that I can't use this facility. How can I get the father and son's surname corrected (and the rest of that family)?

The surname has been entered as Mills and it should be Mittell. This is the father's record: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NXL9-DKN

Unfortunately, there is no way to have this corrected. If you add the record to the appropriate individual(s) in Family Tree, you can make a note of the correct spelling under "Reason to Attach Source" before making the attachment. FamilySearch intends to gradually increase the amount of records / sources that can be edited, but for now this appears to be limited to those for which there is a linked image.

    Thanks for your response.

That is very frustrating, since the date of the marriage is also out by 10 years.

I don't have a Family Tree account and am wary of having any online trees - I could have dozens in different places!
