Shortcut for making alternate names

If a record/merge shows a different name from the person as they're recorded on Family Search, it would be SOOO helpful if there was an option to automatically create an alternate name that DOES match the record/merge. Please upvote if you think this is a good idea!

The detail carried across from the individual being merged often contains incorrect information, duplicate spouses and children, etc. I find this always requires a thorough examination of the surviving ID once the merge has been completed. There are often a number of adjustments that need to be made at this time, including adding notes and merging of a spouse and children. This is also the time to confirm individuals who don't carry the exact same name really are one and the same person. I'd say that is the best time to add an alternate name, providing (most importantly) a reason statement for why they were also known by a second name.

So, no, I cannot upvote your idea, as I prefer to input as much detail as possible whilst on the person page.
