Advanced Edit Mode in Review Names
I have been reviewing names in baptismal records. I sometimes find it helpful to use the Advanced Edit Mode (AEM) to correct fields and highlights. But I have some questions:
So, I come across a Given Name and a Surname that have been mistakenly identified as a single Given Name. In the Transcription Error dialog box, I select the AEM, and the AEM opens in a new browser window. I use the AEM to make the correction. When I close that browser window, I go back to reviewing names and the Transcription Error dialog box is still open.
1) Do I need to hit the "Submit" button?
2) I don't see the corrections I just made. How long does it take before my AEM corrections show up in the image I am reviewing? Should I stop reviewing that image at that point and go back and get more names?

In response to your question about name review and Advanced Edit Mode (AEM) for your Puerto Rico example. The current suggestion is to move to the next name after correcting the name in AEM. It should update in the database later as soon as you save it in AEM though the tab with the name that you just reviewed won’t update because we don’t push updates to those pages… Does that make sense?
I am still trying to find clarification, I will update you when I have further information to share.

Tomlinsonkl: Many thanks for answering this question! I'm getting the idea that the AEM is not used much. Should I be using it at all? I just want to make sure that I am using it correctly and getting the most out of it when I do use it. I like correcting the entire image within AEM because I can add/correct the relationships in addition to correcting the name. The baptismal records can be packed with useful information that I'd like to make available to researchers. One of the biggest struggles I have had with the AEM is the highlighting feature. I figured out how to add/reposition/resize a highlight. Is there a way to delete highlights? I have started a PowerPoint presentation that describes what I have learned so far about using the AEM. The presentation has a lot of screen grabs. Adding audio and video is beyond my current skills. But if it can be reviewed and made into a resource for others I'd like that.

I also like using the AEM for the same reasons. Many of the records have been wrongly indexed from the beginning and it's almost necessary to go through the AEM to correct it properly.
Some changes do need to be made to it to make it more user friendly as it now requires to many unnecessary clicks here and there. Also I agree, a button that you can press when you're done to close the page without leaving you uneasy of the destiny of the changes you have made is a must (I'm done, what do I do now? Is there a button somewhere? I can't find a button, should I just close the window? Will it save all the changes if I do?)
When it comes to the highlights....I had the same thought you had about being able to delete them, but then I decided to repurpose those highlights when I needed to make a new highlighted section. One day I accidentally reloaded the page as I had left it open a bit too long and the unused highlights weren't there anymore so I'm guessing that if they don't have an attachment they don't stick.
I have had concerns about how much of the changes are saved though. I made my own entry about this around nov 4.
This tool is great but it is in need of improvements.
