Automatic Reversion to "Sing-On" Page when FS Signs Patron Out Account Inactivity

FS automatically signs patrons out after a certain period of inactivity (please note that there appears to be no purpose for the "keep me signed in button anymore).

No matter what happens, until you begin some work on FS, you don't know you're signed out until you hit the enter key (as in adding information). The Patron Log-in page STILL shows you signed in even when you are "timed-out".

Simple solution: When timed out, the system should automaticlAly revert to a Sign-In page with a message saying what has happened. And, please get rid of the "Keep me signed in button".......

I wonder what the problem is with websites not providing warnings that the user is either about to be timed-out, or has been timed-out? My experience with the many websites I use is that the majority allow you to be logged in without time limit, but those that do time me out are about "50/50" when it comes to any warnings. Can anyone explain the possible reasons for this inconsistency?

Also, as Cousin David suggests, why does it help in checking "Keep me signed in" when you are still timed out? What's the difference in practical terms? So, yes, why keep this option?
