Help in reviewing
I am reviewing a batch .....UK, England, Lancashire—Nonconformist Church Records, 1647–1996 [Part B][MSGZ-1ND] There are several entries with a prefix that the indexer has interpreted as "Mr" and then assigned the male gender. I believe this prefix might rather be an abbreviation of Uxor or wife, which would make these entries the wife's burial record. Entry 74 (May 13, James Cheetham is representative) Comments appreciated.

Sorry, When I try to view your batch I get a batch restricted message!!
Maybe this is why you are not getting any responses to your question.

Hello,
I, too, get the restricted message when trying to view the batch.
However, I am reviewing a similar batch from the same project and it has, what I think are, very similar entries. The only people who have a full name are men or single women - children are listed as "a child of" or "son of" or "daughter of" and wives as "ux of". It would be quite unusual for a man to be given the prefix "Mr." unless he was a gentleman of independent means. There would only be an occasional one or two of them., so if it is something which is repeated often, it would seem to be unlikely that is the case.
I hope this helps.
Hilary.
