Messages not scrolling

I reported the issue with messaging not scrolling down. I got the canned response that I need to refresh my browsers and clear the caches. I even sent a screen shot with my original email a couple of days ago to the familsearch email address.

So this has been going on for about a week or so and others have reported the same behavior to me and we have all resorted to communicating with each other via email instead, because Messages has stopped playing nice.

It is not "my" computer. It is not "my" platform of choice. It is not "my" browser. This is the same behavior on different platforms and browsers to a lot of people and something happened about a week ago and it just has gotten worse with time. So please review the scrolling down function in Messages and fix it and stop pointing fingers at us, the users and look closely at the Messaging code used by FamilySearch. "You" must have added a feature and it broke the Messaging part of FamilySearch.

    "Scrolling" is probably the incorrect term to use. Typed text does not go beyond one page. The text is there, it just cannot be "seen" by attempting to get down to the latest dialogue. That is what is meant by "not scrolling".

    Just my thoughts.

    I know, that this certainly does not help/assist; but, I hope, that this may provide you with, some additional, insight; and, perspective; and, another avenue to pursue.

    @RobertLeighPritchett

    I'm not a heavy user of FamilySearch messaging, but I have a few threads that are longer than a single screen on my large monitor. I just took a look, and I saw what may be the issue. And it is similar to another issue we saw on the search pages a few weeks ago, with multiple scroll bars.

    There are 2 scroll bars on the right side of the messaging screen, one almost hidden by the other. The one needed for viewing a long message thread is underneath and nearly hidden. It's difficult to see and more difficult to illustrate. If I hover my mouse just so I can make it appear, temporarily.

    Until such time as the developers make a fix, perhaps you can make use of the scroll bar with a little fiddling.

    I'm having he same problem. My temporary work around is to shrink the page using Ctrl + minus keys. That makes it show the whole message thread, but then you have the problem the font may be too small to read!

    The fix is in. Use a cellphone or hook up a computerto a mouse that has a scroll wheel on it. Otherwise, wait until the FamilySearch coders realize the mistake they made and correct it.

    On a Mac, the reduction in screen size only drops down so far and for long dialogues it does not drop down far enough to see everything.

    The workaround that I stumbled across was to select some text and then extend the selection off the bottom of the page. That caused the hidden messages to scroll upwards into the viewable area.

    This part of messaging now seems to be resolved on the Mac.

    Note that this message thread is several months old, and the issue was resolved some time ago.

    Actually, it was still an issue less than a week ago on the Mac. The "workarounds" are no longer needed. The other thread link posted above provides continuity.
