problem with an ancester with multible conflicting info

I have been trying to obtain the correct information on my 7th great-grandfather. I have multiple birthdates, names, birthplaces, and wives. The death information is correct through all resources. The names are Andreas Martin Kepner 1699-1766, Andreas Martin Kepner 1700-1766, Johannes Andreas Kepner 1699-1766, Andrew Kepler 1699-1766.

Our last name has many variations. Keplar, Kepler, Kepner, Keppler, Capler, ect.

I have resources information from gravestones, Find a grave, Ancestry, Family search, genealogieonline/stamboom and Ludwig, story of a dozen generations, Heritage, GeneaNet. These sites contain multiple profiles of this person under different names.

How do I untangle this giant mess to get the correct information? Most of the profiles share the same information when it comes to wives and children with some variants.

I sure could use some insight before I go insane trying to figure this out.

Thank you for posting your concern about all the varied information about your 7th Great Grandfather. You might want to try merging some of the records that share the same names of spouses and children. If they mostly match, with similar names, and dates, ( 1699 and 1700 are essentially the same, especially if the 1699 has a Dec. date), when comparing them prior to completing the merge. If the names are spelled with variations you mention, add the variation as an alternate name under Other Information, if you decide to merge them. The Help Center article link below may be helpful.
