There NEEDS to be a back button, I have accidentally selected an option without even seeing what I chose many times.

There should be an info tab like in indexing to explain exactly what it wants you to do, because I don't always find it very clear. These are the questions that should be answered in the feature itself:

How am I supposed to make an informed decision without seeing the source documents these place names were pulled from? Should I write the place name as it was during the time of the event or its modern equivalent? What if the correct name doesn't seem to be included in the list of standardized place-names? Why are the top results in the drop down always cities in Cuba? lol

    Instructions

Improve the accuracy of Family Tree.

You can help by associating a user-entered place with a standard place found on a map.

    What you will do:

    1. See the user-entered place. Compare it to the places in other life events.

    2. Add the standard place that is most similar to what the user entered. What you add will not overwrite or delete the user-entered place. Skip to the next person if you are unsure.

Note: If you prefer, select a country or location below to review places from a specific country or location.

    Select Country or Location

    [Enter country name drop-down list]

This is a Place Standardization project. If the place name has options with dates, and you can tell by other events listed for that person that they lived while the U.S. was still a British Colony, for example, you would select the location name indicating that. If not, go with the most recent. If you cannot find a match, but know what it should be (because of other related entries you have done), you can type it in (there are often misspellings) to see if a match comes up, or Skip it. It is up to the researcher(s) to compare the source material.
