The title of this film is Deeds V. G-J 1790-1796

After searching the film for several hours, I am pretty confident that Book (Volume) I is missing. I need a copy of the deed which appears in Book I, page 77: State of North Carolina to Timothy Ragan.

Book H and Book J are on the film. If anyone can advise me on how to find Book I, it will be appreciated. Thank you

Thank you for the assistance in finding the record I needed for Timothy Reagan/Regan in "Deeds Vol. G-J, 1790-1796," Caswell County, North Carolina (7513239).

The handwritten Grantee Index entry (7513235, image 238) for Timothy Reagan/Regan looks like Book I, p. 77 and I did not recognize that it was actually a J. I thought I'd learned my lesson about that long ago, but guess not.

Aside from my confusion, I would like to point out the title of the film does not reflect the contents. The title pages for each Deed Book on film 7513239 are: Book G=image 3; Book H=image 200; Book J=image 430. There is no Book I on the film.

This indicates the title of the film (see first line) is in error and a note should be added that the film does not contain a Deed Book I. Also, a note that directs the researcher to check Deed Book J for any records believed to belong in Deed Book I would save time in trying to locate a record.

I appreciate the learning opportunity and the assistance.

Unable to figure out how to “Suggest an Idea” by following the link provided to “General Questions” and there is no longer a “Feedback” button. FamilySearch is not the user-friendly place of the past. I don’t think anyone there gives a flip about correcting content errors.
