Quality check won't allow me to record the date on the document
I was indexing a record and when I went to submit it one of the dates (a death date) was marked. It said that it was too early of a date (1789) and that all dates should be after 1808. The 1789 date was oddly early, but it is typed so it very clearly said that. Is there a way to get around the quality check? I could just leave it blank, but I wanted to submit as accurate information as possible.

Hi Leona,
We would need to know the batch number that you are talking about in order to be precise, but in other instances where the date pre-dates the earliest date in the instructions, the instructions are to mark it 'Blank'.
Presumably, anyone searching the record would see the date on the original image and be able to include it in their research, if applicable.
Hope this helps,
Kind regards,
Barry
