The simple answer is No -- you cannot rely on the accuracy of any tree going back to Adam. Here is an article that you might find useful:

Short answer: Yes, no and maybe....it really depends on the sources and what part of the collaborative tree your are viewing. The further back the person, the less written documentation exists.
Longer answer: The Family Search Family Tree (FT) is a platform for sharing research by many users and contains a combination of newly entered research, "completed" well sourced research, and imported "legacy" research which is open to edit, fix and or validate. Maybe, view the FT broadly as a "work in progress"...and different parts of the tree as a "draft", "finished" and "speculative".
This checking for validity is no different from what one might do on one's own, on their desktop with pen and paper and family group sheets. ...now you also have a "community approach" to share the work and collaborate digitally with other users around the world.
