Issues with New York death records

New York, State Death Index, 1880-1956

The records for Syracuse, Onondaga, New York are indexed as Syracuse, Sicily, Italy. Can someone please fix? Thank you.

    Another case of a placename standardization problem. Could you please report to the engineers?

    Example:https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QG26-4X8T

    Not all records in that dataset are showing as Italy, but many are:

    @M Miner, @Áine Ní Donnghaile Thank you for reporting the problem in the New York State Death Index. We'll report to the engineers for correction. Unfortunately, we are not able to predict how long it will take for a fix to be in place. Fortunately, you can edit the inaccurate place for your ancestors while waiting for the engineers to correct the others. The steps are in this help center article:
